About this Event
Health care prices in the U.S. have long been shrouded in mystery. While we've seen strides toward increased price transparency, too often consumers don’t know the price for a service until they receive a bill, employers lack data needed to improve the value of the health care they purchase for employees, and states lack crucial information on their health care markets.
Join Georgetown’s Center on Health Insurance Reforms to discuss how Congress can increase transparency to help make private health insurance and health care more affordable for all.
Moderated by from The New York Times, speakers will share what Congress and the Executive Branch can learn from how consumers, employers, and state regulators leverage transparency to improve health care value and drive down costs. Audience Q&A will follow the discussion. Speakers include:
- , Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
- , Senior Research Fellow, Center on Health Insurance Reforms
- , President and CEO, Employers' Forum of Indiana
- , Executive Director, National Academy for State Health Policy
- , Executive Director, Families USA
Breakfast will be provided from 8:30-9:00 am. Program begins at 9:00 am.
