About this Event

Transitions shape every part of our lives. They accompany changes in identity, relationships, work, home, health and life stage. They ask us to let go of what has been, encounter uncertainty, and discover new ways of meeting ourselves, our clients and each another.
British Gestalt Journal’s Christine Stevens and Dora Darvasi will be leading the first in-person BGJ conference day in years. While the day marks an editorial transition, its focus reaches far beyond it. Together we will explore the thresholds we live through in our individual lives, our clinical practice and the communities we belong to.

We hope the day will feel spacious, inspiring and enriching – an opportunity to step away from the demands of practice and reconnect with Gestalt colleagues.
Through keynote addresses and facilitated small-group reflection, we will create a thoughtful, supportive space in which Gestalt practitioners and trainees can

  • deepen their understanding of transitions through a Gestalt lens
  • reflect on questions arising in their lives and practices
  • connect with colleagues navigating similar questions and challenges
  • leave with fresh perspectives to inform their therapeutic work

Keynote Speakers

Christine Stevens, Outgoing Editor, British Gestalt Journal

What The Day Will Look Like

· Two keynote addresses exploring transition through a Gestalt lens, taking the journal’s editorial transition as its starting point

· Facilitated small-group workshops exploring different dimensions of transition

· A closing plenary, bringing everyone together to consider how the day’s learning might inform our practices

Through heartfelt dialogue and shared reflection, we hope to create a space where the personal meets the professional, and everyone navigating their own sea change will find resonance and support.
