Transition Center of Kansas City Open House
About this Event
Many Kansas Citians are surprised to learn that there used to be a minimum security Pr*son in the West Bottoms neighborhood called the KC Reentry Center. Well, that's changed!
Now, it's the Transition Center of KC (TCKC), a restorative reentry community powered by the MO Dept. of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole.
Starting in April, some men coming back home to KC from Pr*son will make TCKC their first stop... and they are in for a treat! Thanks to the Center for Conflict Resolution and a network of nonprofit reentry partners from around KC, these men will receive a bounty of support, education, and opportunity to help make their reentry journey and reintegration into the community a success.
Join the Determination, Incorporated team to learn more about this cutting edge initiative and to get a first hand look at Pr*son reentry in Missouri. We'll meet in front of the facility at 12:45pm and tour together at 1pm.
Tours run every half hour from 11am-3pm, so if you're not able to join our group you should still go check it out. No RSVP required, just show up!
