Join us in Dayton, Ohio, as we light a candle for each victim taken from us by violence this year in the US. Typically we have a Keynote, a Youth speaker, and two other delightful speakers. As well as, some live music. If you would like to volunteer for this event please email us. [email protected]
Keynote Speaker - Ryan Sallans
Ryan Sallans is a transgender speaker and writer who specializes in gender and orientation development. Over the past 20 years, Ryan has served as a speaker and consultant for corporations, healthcare institutions, federal agencies, universities, and community. An internationally utilized gender subject matter expert, Ryan interweaves storytelling with scientific research and cultural studies.
In June 2021, Ryan became the first person outside a jurist to address the United States Courts for a Heritage Month Event. In April and July of 2022 he became the first person to open a plenary for our federal magistrate on the topics of sex and gender.
Since his own transition from female to male, which began in May of 2005 in Lincoln, Nebraska, Ryan’s story and expertise has reached people worldwide through his websites, books, articles, speaking engagements, and interviews. He’s appeared on radio, podcasts, magazines, newspapers, and mainstream television -including Gender Rebel, two appearances on Larry King Live, Ricki: The New Ricki Lake Show, Trisha and Cheddar TV.
Today, he is utilized as a guiding voice through his writing and speaking. His main goal and objective is to show audiences how the topics he speaks to applies to us all. To further assist audiences, Ryan is creating curriculums and new lectures through his trademark Gender As My Adverb.
