Transforming Helene with Barefoot Artist founder Lily Yeh

This is a paint-filled, hands-on workshop with Barefoot Artist founder Lily Yeh to gather our voices and hands around the losses and challenges from Hurricane Helene.

Barefoot Artists is a non-profit arts organization based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that uses the power of creativity to transform communities and places that have suffered loss. Founded in 2003 by Lily Yeh, Barefoot Artists aims to train and empower local residents, organize communities, and take action for a more compassionate, just and sustainable better future.

In this workshop, we will use our personal stories and experiences from Helene to create images which will build positive energy and hope among community members. This workshop is intended to be the foundation of a longer-term plan to beautify and breathe life back into an actual place damaged in the hurricane, and we hope to attract particpants interesed committing to a longer term vision.
