Transform Conflict: Restorative Practices for a Positive School Community
About this Event
Room: Grand Hall
Conflict is an inevitable part of school life, but when left unaddressed it can harm communication, disrupt learning, and damage the overall sense of safety and well-being in a community. This professional development session will reframe conflict as an opportunity for growth, connection, and cultural change through the lens of restorative practices.
- Educators will deepen their understanding of how conflict shows up in schools, reflect on their personal conflict styles, and learn strategies to work effectively across different approaches.
- Participants will also practice restorative techniques—such as affective statements, check-ins, community-building activities, and responsive circles—that foster trust and repair relationships.
By the end of the workshop, educators will leave with practical tools to address conflict constructively and strengthen a positive, connected school climate.
