Originally conceived as a dance film*, then a live stage production, GroundWorks Executive Artistic Director David Shimotakahara’s Transcendence is now re-imagined as an immersive mixed media art installation created by Akron artist Miriam Bennett in partnership with 78th Street Studios. Inspired by composer Olivier Messiaen’s “Quartet for the End of Time,” and featuring film by Kuo-Heng Huang and recorded music performance produced by CityMusic Cleveland with Ken Wendt and Jack Sutte, Transcendence: the installation is dance like you have not experienced before!
Installation Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Extended hours Friday, February 10 & 17 until 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
*The original concept for Transcendence was produced in partnership between GroundWorks DanceTheater and CityMusic Cleveland
