Trans Legal Fair – Name & Gender Change; Employment Rights Workshops

Do you need help with changing your legal name and/or gender marker to align with your gender identity? Do you want to be empowered in the workplace as a trans / nonbinary employee? Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Trans* Lounge is partnering with Bet Tzedek to provide a free legal clinic for name and gender marker change to the trans and nonbinary community!

Join us on Sunday, November 3, 11 AM to 2 PM, at the Village at Ed Gould Plaza in Los Angeles!

Note: By registering to attend the event, no attorney-client relationship is formed between the attendee and Bet Tzedek.

For our community needing help in the workplace, the Trans Wellness Center’s Trans Economic Empowerment Project (TEEP) will provide Know Your Rights: Trans, Gender Diverse, & Intersex Rights in the Workplace informational discussions to explore your employee rights in the workplace. TEEP Program Manager Sydney Rogers, MSW (she/her) will dive into Federal, State, and Los Angeles laws designed to protect you.

The Know Your Rights sessions are at 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM.

If you are interested in the legal clinic, please be prepared to provide the following information:

• Name appearing on ID Documents, any other “legal” names used
• Address
• Date of Birth
• Social Security Number
• Driver’s License or ID Number
• Your Race, Gender, Citizenship or Immigration Status
• Public Benefits and/or Monthly Household Income Information
• Gender/Sex on your ID Documents or Sex Assigned at Birth
• Gender Marker you’d like to change to
• Status of: Outstanding warrants/fines, Sex offender registry requirement, Parole, Probation
• For minors: Parents/Guardians’ names and addresses
• If you don’t receive public benefits and need a fee waiver: Detailed household monthly income and expenses

**There will be free parking available at the Anita May Rosenstein Campus (1118 N. McCadden Pl.) across the street from the Village.
