Trains, Buses, Ferries, Oh My! Transportation in Battery Park City
About this Event

About the Event

Join this Family Program! Come along for the ride as we explore the variety of public transportation options within  Battery Park City and nearby! With subways, ferries, bike paths, walking paths, and buses to offer ways to get from one part of the city to another, including different boroughs, the city is the limit! Kids will take a walk around the neighborhood and discover different forms of transportation around Battery Park City. Following a read-aloud of Subway by Christoph Niemann, kids will design their own train cars. We will string together each car to create 1 long train that will take us down the Empire State Trail, which starts just around the corner from the Museum. Recommended for Pre-K-2nd grade.

Program & Registration Details

This program for kids (and their guardians) meets at the Skyscraper Museum, 39 Battery Pl. and is held principally outdoors. The gallery will be accessible: masks are required indoors. For outdoor activities, we follow current NYS guidelines.

You must reserve a place for your child/family through the Eventbrite button. Every child should be accompanied by a parent/guardian. The maximum number of households per program is 20. In the event of bad weather, the rain date will be Saturday, August 14. We will notify you via Eventbrite.

Family programs are free! Reservation priority is given to Skyscrapers Museum members and residents of Battery Park City. Summer programs are supported by a Community Partnership with the Battery Park City Authority.
