About this Event

This is a course for anyone who wishes to enhance their teaching skills and methodology in the field of public service and/or conference interpreting. This is a reputable course that has run for more than 15 years.

This course is an opportunity to experience hybrid teaching, using the latest technology in the field. This new reality requires a new mindset and a new approach to teaching. We will explore lesson planning, class interaction, assessment and feedback, and help you develop your teaching expertise and teaching materials.

The hybrid participation offers an opportunity to experience the latest teaching tools for interpreting in the state-of-the-art Interpreting Suite at London Met which provides outstanding facilities and technology in the field, reflecting the recent development in the industry.

This course is based on a community of practice model and promotes collaborative learning for interpreting studies. Participants will already convene on a social learning platform before the course starts. This platform will remain available after the course ends so that participants can continue to explore what they have learnt and interact informally once the course is over.

Each day will be dedicated to a theme that will combine new skills, practical sessions such as delivering effective guidance, and opportunities to share and collectively reflect on the experience of the day.

The course offers opportunities to try new ways of teaching in a safe and supportive learning environment.

Participants with a full attendance will be provided with a Certificate of Attendance.

Experience in interpreting and teaching is highly desirable.
