About this Event
Meet the Women Who Refused to Be Silenced
Throughout history, bold women have challenged the status quo—ruling empires, reshaping culture, and demanding to be heard in a world dominated by men. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds a remarkable collection of stories that spotlight these fearless pioneers.
On this engaging and enlightening two-hour private tour, you’ll discover women who broke barriers and changed history—some you may know, and others you've likely never heard of. From a gallery devoted to a powerful female Pharaoh to works celebrating suffragettes and feminist icons, the Met reveals a surprisingly rich tapestry of women’s influence across centuries and cultures.
Highlights of the tour include:
- The queen who launched Egypt’s Valley of the Kings
- The ancient goddess who ruled before Zeus
- The infamous female monsters of Greek mythology
- Marie Antoinette’s savvy image-maker
- An overlooked 18th-century female scientist
- The quiet power in Mary Cassatt’s feminist art
- The suffragette whose gift helped shape the Met itself
Join us to uncover the extraordinary women behind the art—leaders, rebels, patrons, creators, and visionaries—whose stories still resonate today.
Come walk the halls of history and meet the women who refused to stay silent.
