The City of Boulder has over 46,000 acres of Open Space with 177 designated trails covering around 155 miles. Create a challenge for yourself and join us to find out about OSMP’s Trails Challenge and check a couple trails off the list. We'll explore several trails around the Flagstaff Mountain summit and learn about some ecology, geology and history along the way. This hike will have some beautiful views of the Continental Divide to the west and Boulder to the east.
Hike Details: We will hike 4.5 miles total and about 1,000 ft of elevation gain at a moderate pace.
Meet at the Flagstaff Summit East Trailhead (790 Flagstaff Summit Rd.). A $5 cash parking fee is required for vehicles not registered in Boulder County. Please bring layers appropriate for the weather, water and proper hiking footwear. Note: This hike is rated DIFFICULT for elevation gain and distance compared to other OSMP programs. Expect sections of rocky terrain.
