Trail Blaze Coffee Brewing Foundation Class with SCA Certificate

Learn how to brew better coffee in this comprehensive one-day introductory coffee training class.

We’ll introduce the essential elements of brewing, then put them to use brewing lots of coffee using various devices and critically tasting the results.

This course involves lots of hands-on time brewing and tasting filter coffee. We’ll brew coffee using several different brewing devices, including manual and automatic gravity drip and different styles of immersion brewers. We’ll use our senses to evaluate the brewed coffee and discuss what happens when the essential elements of brewing are varied. Learners will leave this course being able to properly use various brewing devices.

No prior experience is necessary, though completing Introduction to Coffee is strongly recommended.

Successful completion of this course and a short online written exam qualifies the learner for the Specialty Coffee Association’s Introduction to Coffee certificate.

Course fee include all SCA Certificate Fees.

Face Covering and Mask Requirement: Face covering and masks are required while attending the training sessions or being in the building and not actively tasting coffee.

Dress Code: Don’t wear too much perfume as it interferes with tasting and smelling of coffee.
