Last November we held our first TradFest event and it turned out to be an incredible night. The music was loud, the dancing didn’t stop, and the room was full of the kind of energy that only live traditional music and a great community can create. It was such a great time that we knew we had to do it again 🎊🤍This time around, we’re doing it for something bigger.
Our upcoming TradFest will be a fundraiser for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, with all profits from the event being donated to support the amazing work they do for children and families across Victoria. The Royal Children’s Hospital holds a special place in the hearts of many in our community. Almost everyone knows someone who has needed their care, their expertise, or their support during some of life’s toughest moments 🫶🏽
For our community at O Periklis, the cause became very personal last year. One of our junior dancers was diagnosed with a germinoma brain tumour and spent much of 2025 in and out of the Royal Children’s Hospital for tests, treatments, and appointments. Our little champion faced every challenge with courage and determination, and we’re incredibly proud to say he fought through it all and was able to ring the bell on his way out of the hospital – a moment that meant the world to his family and to all of us who supported him along the way.
That experience reminded us just how vital the Royal Children’s Hospital is. The care, compassion, and life-saving work that happens there every day gives hope to so many families, and this event is our way of giving something back.
Every organiser, musician, and volunteer involved in the night is donating their time to help make this event a success. From the performers on stage to the people working behind the scenes, everyone has come together with the same goal — to raise as much as we can for the Good Friday Appeal.
We’re asking everyone who attends to dig deep, enjoy the night, and help us turn a great party into something that can genuinely make a difference. Whether it’s through ticket sales, donations, or supporting the event on the night, every contribution will help support the incredible work being done at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Together, let’s make it another unforgettable night — this time with a purpose.
