Traditional Tibetan Buddhist Puja: Land Blessing & Ceremony at Patch
About this Event
Traditional Tibetan Buddhist Puja: Land Blessing & Ceremony at Patch with Tibetan Yogi Namkar
Sunday, August 16 | 8:00 AM – 10:15 AM
Check-in begins at 7:30 AM | Lite bite breakfast included
Join us for a meaningful morning at Patch of Heaven Sanctuary as Tibetan Yogi Namkar offers a traditional Buddhist Puja and Land Blessing Ceremony within our grounds.
Surrounded by the forest, wildlife and living landscape of Patch, we will gather with the intention of offering blessings for the land, all beings who call it home and the community that enters and cares for this special place.
The morning begins slowly with a lite bite breakfast, followed by a welcome and honoring of the Four Directions. Together, we will then make our way through the sanctuary toward the Buddha Boulevard, where Yogi Namkar will lead the traditional Land Blessing and Buddhist Ceremony.
What is a Puja?
A Puja is a traditional Buddhist ceremony of prayer, blessing and sacred practice offered with a particular intention. It may incorporate prayers, mantras, scripture recitation, meditation, ritual offerings, blessed water and incense.
For this gathering, the practice turns toward the land itself, offering an opportunity to pause in gratitude, honor the natural world and hold intentions of peace, protection and wellbeing for the sanctuary and all living beings within it.
You do not need to be Buddhist or have any previous experience with Tibetan Buddhist practices to attend. Simply come with an open heart and a willingness to receive and witness the ceremony.
Our Special Guest: Tibetan Yogi Namkar
Yogi Namkar comes from a family with a strong spiritual lineage. His grandfather was a yogi and his father is a professor of traditional thangka painting.
Namkar was raised in a Buddhist temple from approximately seven years old until the age of twenty. He later continued his studies and spiritual practice with Nyingma teachers while living in the mountains of Nepal.
His traditional practices include Buddhist prayer, mantra, scripture recitation, meditation, ritual offerings, blessed water, incense and Puja ceremonies. Namkar currently lives in Tibet and is visiting the United States for a limited period, making this a special opportunity to experience a traditional Tibetan Buddhist ceremony during his time in South Florida.
