A Beginner/Starter Class for Traditional Rug HookingThis hands on class, taught by members of the Woolwrights Rug Hooking Guild, is for beginner hookers or hookers who need a jump start. We will discuss and you will try hooking using equipment and supplies of the craft. Discussions will include pros and cons of a variety of backing materials; how to select the right hook for you; finding a rug hooking frame and cutter that works for you. We will also have fun with the Wide World of Fibers - wool, yarn, and embellishments. Students have the option of completing a 4 x 4 mug rug or a Try It Sampler. All materials are included for the class and a Take Home Beginner/Starter kit is available for purchase.
The workshop is held in the Landis Valley Museum Store first floor.
