A session, or "seisiún," is a casual gathering of musicians playing traditional Irish music including jigs, reels, hornpipes, polkas, airs and slides. There's no set playlist—participants join in as they know the melodies, creating a lively, spontaneous flow. The atmosphere is warm and communal, with regulars and visitors alike playing, chatting, and sometimes singing. You'll commonly find instruments such as tin whistle, fiddle, flute, bodhrán, guitar, accordion, banjo and mandolin. A session is less of a performance and more of a shared experience, fueled by the energy of camaraderie and music.
We will start the evening with tunes at a slower tempo. You are welcome to join us with your acoustic instrument or just grab a pint and hang out with us! We are fortunate to be able to meet at Jack Doyle's, an authentic Irish pub in the heart of Budapest. We look forward to seeing you there!
