Celebrate Christmas in our iconic art deco sanctuary with scripture, anthems by the Boston Avenue Chancel Choir, powerful organ music, and a live nativity tableau. Senior pastor Rev. Dr. Sam Powers will preach the sermon, “Registered in Bethlehem," over Luke 2:1-20, as we look at the idea of Joseph’s family relocating to Bethlehem for a Roman registration as a way to keep the people in order. How does God break through in the midst of Rome’s movement to keep a subjected people under wraps? And how does God continue to work for good in spite of what larger world powers do?
Experience the wonder of Christmas eve when we light candles and lift up our voices in song at the conclusion of this service.
