About this Event

Cacao Ceremony @ Centerforthehigherself on Saturday Feb 12, from 5pm-9pm

We humbly invite you to come participate and sit with us in our next monthly Cacao Ceremony at the Centerforthehigherself in Wynwood, Miami Florida guided by Zulaika Alvarez.

Cacao is the queen of superfoods with benefits for our health, with antioxidant properties and a high concentration of minerals and vitamins. "An ancient legend tells that when human beings fell in oblivion, the spirit of cacao would rise to bring us the memory of who we are ”. A beautiful ceremony & gratitude ritual accompanied by songs that stimulate the union of the spirit and heart vibration. Cacao helps us feel more clarity in our mind and brings more peace and harmony into our beings as well as an energizing euphoric state of bliss. In this cacao ceremony we will sit in sacred circle around the fire. We will learn more about cacao and participate in the flower ritual. I will share some meditation techniques to go within and work with the healing spirit of cacao. We will tone with our voices, practice gentle embodiment exercises, give ourselves space to heal with this divine elixir, we will dance and sing and finish with songs of celebration. We work with offerings to the sacred fire of life. Without the fire and our gratitude ritual it wouldn't be an actual cacao ceremony.

This ceremony is for anyone who wants to be in community in a protected sacred space where we get to tune in and you allow yourself to be guided by the activities Zuli will share with you. A place to be in circle with one another but in reverence. Time stops in Ceremony. The Mayan way is that “time is art” so we can’t rush our ritual, this portal that we will open together we will all complete and close together. So please only attend if you can stay the full time to honor others process and not interrupt. Traditionally the ceremony can last an entire day but learning to work with the flow of our City here.

Bring an intention as to why you want to drink this medicine and sit in reverence around the sacred fire. Ask yourself for what and why are you drinking this cacao? This will help you be more clear and focused. After the ceremony you will leave feeling more joyful, more grounded, more clear on your path and more inspired. Music accompanied by Salvador Alba who brings his original tunes from Dominican Republic which really help “wake up” the medicine with the tropical taino sounds.

Bring a yoga mat, cushion, water bottle and **very important** ‘A” Flower or flowers for the altar. Come as you are! We do try to dress in beauty for ceremony but no pressure!

Zulaika Alvarez is a highly sensitive, highly intuitive empath. Sometimes psychic and learning to become a channel. She is a massage therapist, reiki practitioner and medicinal aromatherapist. Zulaika has been working with plant medicine the last 9 years and has found deep healing and a new way of life with the help of indigenous practices and rituals from South America to Mexico and the Native American Church. She follows the red road of life and has adapted this way of life for herself. She is a vision quester with Fuego Sagrado de Itzachilatlan (Ecuador) and has been supporting the sacred work of the WiXariXa Nation (Indeginous healers AKA Huichol) for the last 5 years. During her vision quest is when the spirit of cacao came to bring her guidance and instruction that she was to learn how to run these ceremonies in a traditional way to help preserve real traditions and the sacred way of sharing cacao. Since then cacao is blindly used in basically every “offering” and event that people come up with which has taken away a lot of the soul of the tradition. So Zuli remains true to her connection with the spirit world and the guidance of her visions to hold these ceremonies in this way.. Aixa Amankay (smiling flower) from Colombia has trusted her with this ritual which was passed on to her from her teacher from Mexico who is in the stars now, known as “abuela Margarita”. It is through the generosity of the elders to trust in her integrity that Zuli has the honor to share this ritual with our community. Zuli is also an advocate for microdosing fungi and has been helping many get started with proper guidance on their microdosing protocols in a safe way.
