Looking for a fun, hands-on way to connect or re-connect with Aboriginal culture? Join local artist Aunty Debbs Robinson for an unforgettable afternoon of Traditional Aboriginal Basket Weaving on Birpai Country during NAIDOC week! No experience needed!
In this 3.5 hour workshop, Aunty Debbs will guide you through the ancient art of basket weaving using natural materials, passing on the skills and knowledge of our ancestors in a warm, welcoming environment. It’s a unique chance to deepen your understanding of Australia’s Indigenous cultures while creating something truly special with your own hands that you will treasure for years to come.
When: Saturday 11th July 2026
Time: 12:30pm – 4.00pm
Where: Sea Scouts Hall, Port Macquarie

All quality materials provided (including soft, natural Madagascan raffia and a myriad of beautifully hand-dyed raffia in a rainbow of colours)
Expert tuition for 3.5 hours from Aunty Debbs
A scrumptious afternoon tea to enjoy while you weave, chat, connect, and share culture.

Adult: $60
Kids (4-13yrs): Only $30 (Half-price for your children/grandchildren!)
Family Discount: $30 for the first child, $20 for any additional children from the same family.
