Tradition & Beyond: Classical Dance Performance

Geeta Chandran cautiously steers two boats. A pristine traditionalist pursuing purity of the Thanjavoor bani of Bharatanatyam, but equally at ease in negotiating modernity in movement and content. Her contemporary work on women's rights, peace activism and environmental sensibility have struck milestones in the history of Indian performing arts.

We bring together art, heritage and social impact through Tradition and Beyond; a special evening of Bharatanatyam by Geeta Chandran & the Natya Vriksha Dance Collective, in support of the VIDYA Discovery & Innovation Hub.

The Hub is being created as a space where children, youth and women from underserved communities can imagine, experiment, innovate and build future-ready skills. It is an investment in talent that is often overlooked and in ideas and possibilities that deserve a chance.
