About this Event
Trading in Intimacy Artist Panel Talk
21st Nov, 19:00, Salon am Moritzplatz
At the mercy of a global art market cultivated by late stage capitalism, do emerging creatives really stand a chance? Who holds the power to create a viable future for artists, and what needs to change for true creativity to reclaim its societal value?
In a discussion moderated by arts writer Madeleine Pollard, artist Alexander Vinther-Burroughs, photographer Javier Alejandro Cerrada, artist and illustrator Marie Cloppenburg and writer, artist and astrologer Randon Rosenbohm will explore the plethora of ways in which creative industries and the current economic climate force individuals to sell themselves in attempts to sustain lifestyles that can facilitate creativity — and whether this is in fact possible at all.
This event is free to attend and forms part of — a group exhibition curated by MV-B, on display at Salon am Moritzplatz 19th Nov - 1st Dec 2024.
The exhibition will explore interpretations of intimacy as the currency artists are forced to trade in order to achieve success.
