Trade Day 2025 invites youth ages 12-21 AND ADULTS, for an opportunity to engage in hands-on learning of 13 different Trades!About this Event
Do you know a teen or adult that enjoys working with their hands?
Trade Day provides teens between the ages of 12-21, and adults with the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning of 3 Trades of their choice for FREE.
The objective of is to expose teens and adults to hands-on learning of trades that may enlighten their inner tradesperson! Some people love working with their hands, but don't have access to people that are willing to take the time to share the necessary skills with them. Some students do not desire to attend a 4 year university, but need alternate paths to success. That's where WE come in! We connect our community members to the resources that will help to enhance their lives.
The sessions will be conducted by local businesses and entrepreneurs. Local trade colleges and schools will also be on site to provide the participants with information on furthering their education with alternative programs.
We're grateful for our partnership with National School Choice Awareness Foundation to make Trade Day 2025!
Micro-schools and organizations will distribute information about their upcoming events, as well as community resources.
Family Hour: 11 am- 12 pm (All ages) Check out our live performances by local artists and groups, as well as resources from local home schools, micro-schools, charter schools, high-schools, colleges, and community organizations. Refreshments and a light lunch will be served.
Trade Stations (1 registration per participant): 12 pm- 3 pm (Ages 12 & Up ONLY) Engage in hands-on trade workshops by local tradesmen & women. In order to attend, our 2 waivers must be accepted. You can find them at the bottom of the form. If you are not registered or have children younger than 12, you will not be able to enter the classrooms during the break out sessions. You will have the option of waiting in the cafeteria during the workshops. 3 bus pick-up stops will be available for the Southside, Maywood and the Westside. If you are interested in our transportation, choose the stop closest to you and we will send out additional information.
