About this Event

Who is this course suitable for?

  • SLTs working with patients with a tracheostomy (paeds and adults)
  • SLTs who are interested in learning more about the management of people with a tracheostomy across different pathways

What will be covered?

This day will include:

  • Tracheostomy cannulation: the ICU perspective
  • Ward step down and ICU Transition
  • Preparing to discharge with a tracheostomy
  • Neuro-Rehabilitation with a tracheostomy
  • Community care and upskilling
  • The lived experience: life with and after trache
  • Preparing and training for home with a trache (peads)
  • Opportunity to reflect and problem-solve

Other useful things to know:

  • Lunch will not be provided. There are cafes and restaurants located nearby.
  • The venue is in a central location and within a 3 minute walk from Euston station.
  • The closest tube stations are Euston, Euston Square and Warren Street.
