Der 7. März ist der Geburtstag von Townes Van Zandt, und wir, die Songpoets Society, feiern dies mit einem Abend, an dem wir seine Songs spielen. Wir werden tief in das Repertoire dieses Kulthelden unter den Songwritern eintauchen und sind stolz darauf, einen besonderen Gast für diesen Abend präsentieren zu dürfen: Gernot Feldner, der mit seinen eigenen Interpretationen von Townes' Songs dazu beitragen wird, dieses Programm voller wunderschöner Americana-Musik zu bereichern. Freuen Sie sich auf ein Musikprogramm voller schonungsloser, existentieller, poetischer und harter Wahrheiten, wie sie nur Townes schreiben konnte.
Gernot Feldner, Songwriter und Interpret bringt mit der „Harlequin Preservation Society“ oder auch Solo eine markante melodiöse Mischung aus eigenen Songs und schönen Covers auf die Bühne. Gesungen wird auf englisch, gespielt wortfrei und international. Stilistisch angelehnt am großartigen Werk und Stil von Tom Waits an, mit eckigem groove, griffigen hooklines, manchmal heftig laut, dann wieder filigran und leise.
Songpoets Society, das neue Herzensprojekt von Herald K und Othmar Loschy widmet sich legendären Songwritern und mythischen Figuren der Americana wie Hank Williams, John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Blaze Foley, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson und anderen!
Herald K ist ein norwegischer Singer-Songwriter, der in Wien lebt. Herald K beschreibt seine Musik als „Folk Noir”. Seine Texte sind oft von alter, manchmal sogar antiker Literatur inspiriert. Othmar Loschy ist seit Jahrzehnten Teil der Wiener Americana-Szene. Sein Wissen über Songs ist enzyklopädisch, und er weiß diese Songs auch brillant auf seiner Mundharmonika zu spielen.

March 7 is Townes Van Zandt's birthday, and we, the Songpoets Society, are celebrating this with an evening performing his songs. We'll dig deep into the catalogue of this cult-hero of songwriters, and we are proud to present a special guest for the evening, Gernot Feldner, who will help extend this menu of beautiful Americana with his own interpretations of Townes' tunes. Expect a musical programme full of gritty, existential, poetic, hard truths the way only Townes could have written 'em.
Gernot Feldner, songwriter and performer, brings a distinctive melodic mix of his own songs and beautiful covers to the stage with the “Harlequin Preservation Society” or solo. He sings in English, plays wordlessly and internationally. Stylistically influenced by the brilliant work of Tom Waits, with an edgy groove, catchy hooklines, sometimes loud and intense, other times delicate and quiet.
Songpoets Society, Herald K and Othmar Loschy's new pet project is about celebrating legendary songwriters and mythic figures of Americana like Hank Williams, John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Blaze Foley, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and others! Herald K is a Norwegian singer-songwriter based in Vienna. Herald K describes his music as 'Folk Noir'. His lyrics are often inspired by old, sometimes ancient, literature. Othmar Loschy has been part of the Viennese Americana scene for decades. His knowledge of songs is encyclopedic, and he also knows how to play these songs brilliantly on his harmonica.
