TOWN HALL - Community workshop w/ Placemaking Piccadilly

We're back! After a great Town Hall session in December, we've decided to do another one! And we need YOU to help build our campaign Placemaking Piccadilly to create a public space in Manchester that’s inclusive to everybody.

Join us, Manchester Central Foodbank and arts organisation Get It Done, for a workshop of creative activities, manifesto making and conversations at HOME Manchester.

Our Town Hall will be filled with fun and creative activities to get our minds ticking. Firstly, we'll be using jenga blocks to create word towers, where we'll start to piece together what our community needs and wants are from Piccadilly Gardens. Once we've got our word block towers, we'll move on to create a manifesto, or list of our demands, through collaborative drawing. This is going to be a great participatory art project to get involved with!

We'll be asking questions to find out:

? What events, activities, resources could there be in Piccadilly to enrich lives for everyone?

? How can we make a central square that is accessible and welcoming to all?

? And going further, what could be included in our public spaces that actively challenges inequalities?

By the end of the session, we'll have a 10 point manifesto that we'll be presenting to Manchester City Council in March. If you've been along to any of our previous events, we'd love to have you there!

We're really excited to be working with HOME Manchester, who will be hosting both our Town Hall event and the big exhibition in March. We couldn't think of a better venue to do the campaign and all its participants justice.

This event is open to all, however we particularly encourage people who feel underrepresented in policymaking decisions to attend. There will be snacks and drinks, and the event space is fully accessible. If you have any further questions please email [email protected]
