Tower Road Open Water Swim – Tower Road Beach in Winnetka, Illinois

The course is professionally timed for distances of 5K, 2.4 miles, 1.2 miles, 1,500 meters and 750 meters.  This is the perfect opportunity for triathletes and open water swimmers to guage their training under race conditions.

Tower Road Beach is on beautiful Lake Michigan and is a pristine beach with a full bath house surrounded by beautiful homes.  Each A Long Swim is well stocked with safety personnel and lifeguards.  There is also a DJ to provide inspirational music as well as announcements and finishing information. Our unique vendor village includes Jolyn Clothing and Swimsuits as well as Zoggs Goggles. 

A Long Swim is a series of open water swimming events benefiting ALS research.  These swims are designed for triathletes and open water swimmers, are professionally timed, and led by English Channel Swimmer, Doug McConnell. 

* Doors open at 6:00 am, day of registration begins at 6:00 am, Sunday, August 4 (SWIMMERS MAY ARRIVE EARLIER THAN 6:00 AM, WE WILL BE THERE. REGISTRATION BEGINS AT 6:00 AM.)

* 5K swimmers will go off at 6:30

* 2.4 swimmers will go off at 7:00 

* 1.2 swimmers will go off at 7:20 

* 1,500 meter swimmers will go off at 7:30

*  750 meters swimmers will go off at 7:40 

Most swimmers will be off the course by 9:30 or 10:00 am. We will have breakfast and refreshments available.

DAY OF REGISTRATION OPENS AT 6:00 AM, AUGUST 8, AT EVENT WITH A $15 PREMIUM.

ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 6:00 PM ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 7.

Day of registration is available at 6:00 AM at the event, with a $15 premium. Day of registrants may not receive a swag bag or a tee shirt, although we will try.  Doors open at 6:00 AM. Race starts begin at 6:30 AM. ONLINE REGISTRATION ENDS SATURDAY, AUGUST 7, 6:00 PM.
