Welcome to TOWER OF SONG, the songwriters’ night with a different monthly theme and musical style to get your creative juices flowing. You don't have to stick to the theme, but please note our NO COVERS policy...all a cunning plan to encourage your songwriting!
This month will be a bit different: firstly it's the SECOND Thursday of the month and not the first (avoiding a clash with the Jubilee bank holiday) and secondly we are giving you a theme as usual, but the musical style is completely up to you!
Thirdly, this month's theme of 'HOME FROM HOME' ties in with a new project being run by Chapel FM, who have this to say about it, though you are welcome to interpret the theme in any way you wish:
"HOME FROM HOME: the places where people go to find a sense of belonging, meet people, learn something new, organise to change our community, be part of something bigger. It could be a cafe, arts centre, barber shop, hair salon, club, bus or bus stop, patch of green space, music venue, church, library, sports centre. The sky's the limit!"
Doors are at 8.00pm and you can sign up for a slot until performances start at 8.30pm.
Entry is free and PA and sound engineer are provided, so just bring your own instruments and amplification if required.
We want to keep the space as safe and welcoming as possible, so we ask that you please avoid attending if you have (or suspect you might have) COVID-19.
You are welcome to play non-themed original material if you like, but if you write a 'Home From Home' song, you'll also have the opportunity to:
- Record a live version at Chapel FM on the evening of Thursday 7 July, and then:
- Have your song played on the radio over the weekend of 22-24 July, and/or:
- Perform your song live as part of a series of events at Chapel FM that weekend (day/time TBC).

Tony Mascaluso from Chapel FM will come to Tower Of Song on 9 June to explain more about the project, after which you might feel inspired to write a(nother) 'Home From Home' song focusing on an aspect of the Chapel FM/Seacroft community.
