About this Event
Do you ever feel as though you’re living in a state of mental and emotional stagnation — not necessarily sad, but struggling to feel excitement or joy despite everything seeming “fine” on the outside? In other words, do you feel like you’re languishing?
The term languishing was coined by sociologist Corey Keyes to describe a state that is not depression and also not flourishing. It’s often described as a feeling of “emptiness and stagnation,” marked by listlessness, apathy, and a sense of mental weariness.
If this resonates with you, you’re not alone. Languishing is a common but often overlooked condition. A 2024 survey found that at least one in four Americans report report experiencing it. The good news? It doesn’t have to stay that way. There are proven, practical ways to move toward to flourishing.
We invite you to join "Toward Flourishing", an engaging and interactive conversation series where we will reflect, share experiences, and explore key concepts and practical steps to help you move toward a flourishing life.
Key concepts we will explore:
- Rethinking
- Necessary Endings and Pruning
- Integrated Character Development
- Kintsugi
- Your Future Self
