Join us on Wednesday, October 13 for a behind-the-scenes tour of downtown Macon’s transformative development. NewTown Macon’s Tour of Progress, presented by Cadence Bank, provides a sneak peek of projects underway and a look into what programs fuel our vibrant downtown. This year, tours will be a little different to prioritize the health and safety of participants. Tours will be self-guided and begin at A Brooke Haven Lounge.
Beginning at 4pm, tour-goers can pick up a Report of Progress and a tour map from A Brooke Haven Lounge at 401 Cherry Street. Decals with QR codes will be placed on the sidewalk in front of tour stops. Scan the code and learn more about the exciting work underway in downtown Macon!
The Tour will conclude at the Macon City Auditorium. Tour-goers should arrive at the Auditorium by 6:45pm to enjoy drinks and light refreshments and music by the Bozwellz.
The Partner in Progress awards reception will take place outdoors on the patio of the Macon City Auditorium following tours and will begin at 7pm.
Masks and social distancing are encouraged when participating in this year's Tour of Progress and Partners in Progress Awards ceremony, except when actively eating and drinking.
During the Partners in Progress Awards Ceremony, NewTown recognizes businesses, organizations, and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional passion and commitment to the revitalization of Downtown Macon. Awards are given in one of eleven categories: The R. Kirby Godsey Leadership, Juanita T. Jordan Community Service, Growing Jobs, Increasing Residents, Creating a Sense of Place, 360 Degrees, Special Recognition, Emerging Partner, Emerging Leader, Downtown Ambassador, and Spirit of Cooperation. Awards may or may not be given in every category.
