A fresh walking tour shared from the perspective of local musician and founder of the Dallas Entertainment Awards, Dezi 5, who grew up in Deep Ellum working at his grandmother’s soul food restaurant, Vern’s Place.
Dezi 5 will take guests down Elm, Main, Crowdus Streets and more, exploring the deep history of Deep Ellum as well as some of its more recent, colorful past.
Dezi 5 has played venues across the neighborhood for decades and will weave in personal stories while also giving attendees an overview of the arch of the district’s history.
The tour is FREE and begins at 3pm each Saturday at the DECC. You can RSVP via the eventbrite link!
Deep Ellum was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2023 and Dezi 5 personally contributed memorabilia and photos from Vern’s Place to the Deep Ellum Archive to keep the cultural center’s inimitable history alive.
