Totnes Silent Book Club

The Totnes Silent Book Club is a new chapter in the international Silent Book Club movement, hosted by Anna Selby.

Rooted in the ethos of pleasure activism - our gatherings offer a space for readers, introverts, deep thinkers, and anyone seeking a restorative pause in a loud world.

There’s no assigned reading, no pressure to speak – just bring a book, settle in and enjoy reading in companionable silence. Together, we celebrate the radical joy of slowing down, reading for pleasure, and connecting in quietude.

All books, all people, and all ways of reading are welcome.

We meet on the third Thursday of each month (excluding December), at the back of The Bruto Lounge in Totnes, 6 – 8pm

• 6:00-6:15pm - Arrive, order drinks/food, or get some water
• 6:20-7:20pm - Quiet reading hour
• 7:20-8:00pm – Optional chatting, or just keep reading

You can just turn up, but it is helpful to know numbers, so if you’d like to, please register on Eventbrite here or email [email protected] so I know to expect you!

Feel free to also bring any books you’ve finished and would like to put on the bookswap shelves.
