About this Event
Follow up your visit to the mudlarking exhibition with a fun session to learn about the history of the Thames
This is a reduced price event run in association with Totally Thames.

Please be aware: the steps at the Millennium Bridge are steep and have no handrail. Our staff will tell you the best way to navigate them.

A chance to get onto the foreshore at Millennium Bridge and find the archaeological surface artefacts revealed by the River Thames. Who knows what will be discovered - smoking pipes, drainpipes, pottery, bones…? There is lots of evidence of London's past to be found. Money raised from these sessions supports the development and delivery of our schools’ programmes.

Meeting by the glass obelisk under Millennium Bridge, on the North Bank, we will explore the foreshore from the bridge to Queenhithe Dock. We are guaranteed to find pipes, pottery and lots of evidence as the twice daily tide reveals London's history.

A note to our regular participants: walks on different days will start and finish at different times depending on the tide and weather conditions. See above for the times of this walk.

Please pay by clicking the PayPal button above - once you are on that page you don't need a PayPal account - just click on pay by debit or credit card.

Artefact policy

Thames Explorer developed our artefact policy almost a decade ago after seeing people removing wholesale quantities of artefacts from the foreshore. We encourage all to adhere to the following principal: that you take only photographs, knowledge and memories and not artefacts themselves. Doing this helps preserve the historic nature of the Thames foreshore and the unique experience of mudlarking.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel please give at least 2 week's notice so that we can resell your tickets. Cancellations after this time may incur a fee of part or all of the ticket value. If Thames Explorer has to cancel an event, participants will be informed by email at the earliest opportunity and a full refund will be made.
