Montverde Academy’s performance of Toss Me A Tempest is a bit of a departure from the normally-seen Shakespeare productions the Theatre Conservatory is known for. This 40-minute show is designed with young theatregoers in mind and is perfect for the whole family. The idea is to make Shakespeare less intimidating … make it more accessible and get kids to understand it’s still relevant. In this production, you will meet Prospero, William Shakespeare’s greatest magician. Help him conjure a storm so fierce it’s called a tempest. Watch as that tempest tosses Prospero’s enemies onto an island where he’s been exiled with his daughter and two magical spirits. And, what happens when you can finally take your revenge? Should it be swift and terrible? Or should you, just maybe, pause and consider mercy? Join us to find out.
