The inaugural Torrens Island Race, hosted by Adelaide Canoe Club, is a 16km paddle race for sea kayaks, tandem sea kayaks, surf skis, ocean skis, and outrigger canoes over 4.5 meters in length. The race will run anti-clockwise from the Garden Island boat ramp, towards St Kilda, through the channel known as 'the cutting', returning down the Port River, under the Torrens Island road bridge, and back to the Garden Island boat ramp. Powered safety boats will patrol the course during the event.
