Topic: Tax strategies using life insurance
Description: Use of corporate owned life insurance to increase monies available from the corporation for shareholder and their heirs and to lower the applicable tax rate for corporate assets, but without the corporation having to pay more money or take greater financial risks.

Stuart Dollar is a lawyer, and is a Director for Retail Insurance Tax Solutions with Sun Life
Financial in Waterloo, Ontario.
He began his financial services career with London Life (now part of Canada Life) in
1994, working as a retirement planner, product manager, and advisor. In 2002 he
accepted an opportunity to work with GE Financial Assurance (later Genworth Financial)
in the United States as an advanced marketing attorney.
Stuart returned to Canada in 2009 to join Sun Life Financial. He helps with tax issues
related to life and health insurance, annuities and investment funds, and with different
strategies that use those products. He is also experienced in the U.S. tax treatment of
life and health insurance, annuities and mutual funds, and with U.S. income and estate
tax laws as those laws relate to life and health insurance, and wealth products.
