The 2026 Toronto International Tap Dance Festival, produced by Toffan Rhythm Projects, returns for its fourth biennial edition with three days of performances, education, and community programming featuring internationally acclaimed artists and leading Canadian voices.
PROGRAM ONE
Milestones celebrates extraordinary career and life achievements, honouring 90-year-old Canadian tap legend Joey Hollingsworth, Heather Cornell marking her 70th year and reflecting on a career spanning more than five decades as one of tap dance’s most influential artists, and 2024 National Heritage Fellowship recipient Bril Barrett, whose 25 years leading MADD Rhythms have shaped generations of tap dancers.

PROGRAM TWO
Convergence features the Boys’ Club Tap Dance Collective’s Ostinati, a new work exploring recurring cycles through original music and the shared experiences of female-identifying artists, alongside Boston’s Subject:Matter, presenting With Far Hand, an innovative work blending tap, original composition, improvisation, and contemporary jazz to expand the instrument-like possibilities of the form.

The festival also includes workshops, masterclasses, clinics, free panel discussions, the new generation residency program, and the closing night jam hosted by local powerhouse Victoria Miller. TITDF serves as Canada’s only festival of its kind and a national platform for artistic excellence, professional development, and the exploration of diverse histories, perspectives, and aesthetics within tap dance.
