Join us for a workshop on how to make your own personalized floating lantern!
This summer, join us for a floating lantern making workshop to create your own personalized lantern! During this workshop, materials will be provided to create your own unique lantern. Participants are encouraged to bring crafting and collaging materials of their own to give their lanterns a unique touch!
During the workshop, origami instructor Yamamoto Sensei will provide a brief history of Toronagashi, aka floating lanterns. He will also guide participants through basic origami folds to add a special element to add to the lanterns.
Participants are encouraged to bring their finished lanterns on August 16th at the Japanese Garden of the Phoenix for our annual floating lantern ceremony where we will place them on the water in a beautiful display!
