About this Event
Hari Budha Magar is a Guinness World Record holder who made history in May 2023, becoming the world’s first double above-knee amputee to summit Mount Everest.
Serving for 15 years in the British Army’s legendary Gurkha regiment, Hari has transformed from injured veteran to record breaking mountaineer. Originally from Nepal, Hari served across five continents with the Royal Gurkha Rifles in the British Army, and in 2010, lost his legs in Afghanistan after stepping on an improvised explosive device. Following this life changing event, he made it his global mission to inspire and change perceptions with regards to disability.
As a champion of removing limits, demonstrating resilience, innovation and showing the effects of a positive mindset, Hari has his sights set on becoming the first double above-knee amputee to climb the 7 Summits (highest summit on each continent).
