Propulsive "brasshouse" phenoms Too Many Zooz with guests Featurette!
About this Event

A viral sensation since they first emerged as New York subway buskers in 2013, have evolved into a globally recognized phenomenon. The trio’s outrageous, electrifying live performances have taken the world by storm. They've performed on acclaimed festival stages such as Glastonbury and Electric Forest, and picked up nods from industry heavyweights along the way like BBC Radio One and Ministry of Sound. They've racked up ad placements with Google and KFC, garnered high-profile remixes from the likes of Armand Van Helden and KDA, scored a supporting role on Beyonce's Lemonade (“Daddy Issues”, "Formation") and made a live cameo with Beyonce and The Chicks at the 50th Annual CMA Awards in 2016. The self-described "brasshouse" trio make manically kinetic instrumental music that combines avant-garde jazz, EDM, punk rock, house, techno, and glitch, paired with the indigenous punch of Cuban, Afro-Cuban, Caribbean, and Brazilian rhythms into their own distinctive brand of propulsive dance music. The musical style was “branded” by drummer King of Sludge (KOS), who recognized that there was no worthy existing classification for the New York trio, whose other two members are the equally unclassifiable Leo P (saxophone) and Matt Doe (trumpet). “Brasshouse is a high-energy musical conversation,” Doe insists. “Though I honestly don’t think there is a good way to describe it in words. It’s about many different feelings and sounds and emotions.” Or as KOS explains, “There was really no origination to the style other than us knowing we wanted to be in a band where we could play how we wanted to play and what we wanted to play. People would come and ask us what kind of style of music we [played] and we never really had an answer… the kind of music that we agreed we liked was house music and EDM and hip-hop, and so I was like, well, why don’t we just call it brasshouse, and we just went with it.”

Toronto-based duo was formed by singer Lexie Jay and drummer Jon Fedorsen. Like their synth-heavy contemporaries Phantogram and Tove Lo, Featurette is influenced by emotionally charged, heavy-hitting electro-pop sounds. The duo released their two-part debut Crave Volume 1 and 2 in October 2015, which was met with accolades across North America. Sophomore album Dream Riot arrived in January 2020. Their latest release, "The Blame (Exposed Version)" dropped in May 2021.
