MAGASIN 4 PRESENTS :TONTO (NL) (Noise Drum)
Tonto came out of the most perverted wet dreams of Big Black, Zu, Melt Banana, Deerhoof, Hella, Lightning Bolt and Death Grips. You can call it Noise, but it's groovy like Hip-hop but raw like Punk. Tonto is a no-guitar one-man band, with drumset and voice amplified in a jungle of distortions and digital artifacts. You get some sexy blast beats but also African polyrhythms at times, a lot of bumbum-cha like ghettoblasta and occasional ass-shaking straight 4/4. Tonto is a musician with a computer, like a monkey in a spaceship.
PRURIT (BE) (Harsh Noise)
PRURIT signs the come back of Schmürtz, the pioneer of the belgian electro grindcore in the early 2000s.
PRURIT is making noise not music with custom fabricated machines, toys, circuit bending, modified walkman, feedback, contact mics, signal generator, tapes with homemade sound sources, distortion, fuzz, voices ...
How to get back to a balanced state if a disturbance occur ?
In music, I'm not looking for feelings or memories. What interests me is rhythm, energy, non-being, abscence, forgetting.
I draw into the raw energy of punk and harsh noise towards a state to be defined between notions of balance, collapse, degradation.
