The Made in Hungary Film Festival celebrates the best of Hungarian film culture and highlights the creative spirit of Hungary’s film industry.

This year’s festival stays true to its mission — introducing the richness and diversity of contemporary Hungarian cinema to Los Angeles audiences. Movie lovers will have the chance to discover some of the freshest titles across a wide range of genres and themes — films that have captured large audiences in theatres and online, as well as productions that have earned international critical acclaim.

Each screening offers a window into the unique perspectives, creativity, and emotional depth that define Hungarian filmmaking today.

The festival is organized by the National Film Institute Hungary in collaboration with the Hungarian Cultural Center – Liszt Institute New York.

Tonight We K*ll (2024)

crime comedy

A mysterious death occurs at an actors' retirement home. An overlooked actor, Tivadar Tolnai, who once played a detective in his most famous television series, decides to investigate the case on his own. As he methodically interrogates suspects one by one, herealizesthat finding the culprit among so many excellent fellow actors will be a master detective's job, as all the residents are professional liars. This twisty crime comedy, reminiscent of the Agatha Christie thrillers, is written by the creators of the spy thriller The Game, director Péter Fazakas and screenwriter Abigél Monori, starring András Kern and Mariann Hermányi.
