Classical on Broadway returns to The Jazz Station this October with a season opening concert featuring romantic violin sonatas by Robert and Clara Schumann performed by violinist Tomás Cotik and pianist and Co-Artistic Director Eunhye Grace Choi.

Tomás Cotik is internationally recognized as a soloist, chamber musician, and professor, renowned for his innovative interpretations and thoughtful research in historical performance. A highly sought-after recording artist, Dr. Cotik has released 19 albums with Naxos and Centaur Records, receiving over 200 rave reviews from the international press and five million Spotify streams. His discography includes complete works by Bach, Telemann, Mozart, and Schubert, as well as his own arrangements of Astor Piazzolla's music. Gramophone Magazine praised his “joyful virtuosity,” while Fanfare Magazine lauded his “consistently brilliant” performances.
Dr. Cotik’s recent projects include groundbreaking collaborations that integrate music with visual art, such as his NEA-funded "Ombra Musici" installation at the Portland Winter Light Festival. He is also leading "MÚSICA AR 3D," an innovative augmented reality series showcasing Hispanic music, set to debut in 2025 at the Portland Winter Light Festival. Through these interdisciplinary endeavors, Cotik reimagines the concert experience, using technology and cross-disciplinary approaches to make classical music more accessible and engaging for contemporary audiences.
Dr. Cotik’s Schubert release was nominated as a "Recording of the Year" by MusicWeb International, and his Piazzolla album was shortlisted for the International Classical Music Awards. His performances have been broadcast globally, and he has appeared as a soloist at prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.
As Associate Professor of Violin at Portland State University, Dr. Cotik has received numerous awards, including a Fulbright Scholar Award for Spain, the Dean’s Council Award for Research, and the Kamelia Massih Outstanding Faculty Prize.

Korean pianist Eunhye Grace Choi has been praised for her “nice touch and excellent technique” (American Record Guide) and “meticulous attention to detail” (Fanfare) and performed extensively throughout the United States, Finland, Spain, Netherlands, France, Belgium, the UK, Ireland, Taiwan, Singapore, and South Korea. Choi recorded extensively for Naxos, MSR, Emeritus, and Origin Classical. A versatile keyboardist, she was harpsichord soloist for J. S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto cycle and collaborated with Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg in Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
As a highly demanded collaborative pianist and chamber musician, Choi regularly performs with musicians and soloists from the major symphony orchestras, including Cleveland, Philadelphia, Dallas, Chicago, Cincinnati, St. Paul and San Francisco Symphony as well as many of the world’s most prestigious music institutions and conservatories. She is frequently invited as a resident pianist at competitions and conventions, including the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest® and the Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition and Bassoon Symposium.
Choi served as Collaborative Piano Faculty for six years at Eastern Music Festival, where she was the principal keyboardist of the Festival Orchestra with the conductor Gerard Schwarz. She has also served as music faculty and collaborative pianist at University of Oregon (2017-2018) and Tennessee Tech University (2013-2017). Currently, Choi is Artistic Director of Chamber Music Amici based in Eugene, OR. She also serves as Co-Artistic Director of Classical on Broadway Series at Jazz Station with her husband and clarinetist Wonkak Kim and performs frequently with the Oregon Bach Festival, Eugene Symphony, and Microphilharmonic.
