Political activist and renowned singer and songwriter, Tommy Sands, principal songwriter for Northern Irish Folk Group The Sands Family is returning to the Tyenside Irish Centre this October, once again joined by his friend Bernadette Devlin McAliskey. Bernadette is an Irish civil rights leader, peace campaigner and former politician, having been elected MP for Mid Ulster in 1969 at the age of 21.
