An evening of 40s/early 50s western swing with some of Vancouver's finest roots players. Tom Hammel has enjoyed playing western swing music over the years and has honed in on the exciting style that emerged in the late 40s and early 50s with the likes of Hank Penny, Billy Jack Wills (Bob's younger brother) and others. It was a time before rock'n'roll swept the world, but the musical changes expressed at the time were a forerunner of what would come
