About this Event

This tour at Bay Branch Farm will focus on growing tomatoes in high tunnels. If you’ve successfully grown field tomatoes, protected culture growing can be a learning curve. It comes with several benefits, though, including higher yields, extended growing season, better fruit quality, and less disease/pest pressure. We’ll cover these aspects and also highlight the importance of automated systems for irrigation and ventilation and how to use this technology to maintain optimum growing conditions for fruiting crops.

**This event is outdoors on a working farm where you will be surrounded by nature. Ground and terrain may be uneven on the farm. We recommend comfortable shoes, sunscreen and a hat.**

This workshop will take place rain or shine. In cases of extreme weather, we will contact you 24-36 hours prior to the event if we need to cancel.
