The name of Miles Davis is among the most recognized jazz artists in the world, and in honor of his 100th birthday, Tom Strange will review his life and musical accomplishments, challenges, and innovative approach to jazz through remarks, pictures, and most importantly, the music itself, starting with his early recordings on 78 rpm records. This lecture will take a whirlwind tour of the vast output of Davis and his many collaborators, some of which are alive and working today.
