Conservation & Rewilding Day at our flagship urban rewilding site: Tolworth Court Farm Fields and Moated Manor.
About this Event

Welcome to Tolworth Court Farm Fields!

2024 is set to be a momentous year for this sprawling 42 hectare mosaic of grazed and ungrazed pastures, ancient hedgerows and small copses. With a history stretching all the way back to the days of the Domesday Book, we hope this site will soon be as rich in wildlife as it is steeped in culture and history.

Our exciting plans for the site include the restoration of wetlands and the introduction of locally extinct grazing and browsing animals. This will be the first session to will kick off the next phase of the project.

As a volunteer you will be learning and undertaking traditional and innovative wildlife-friendly management techniques to enhance, manage and monitor the site and encourage wildlife-friendly behaviour by the public.

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved, meet new people and learn skills on the day. This will include observing an amazing variety of wildlife from the diversity of grassland species typical of former hay meadows, the numerous bird species which inhabit the edges of marginal habitats and the riparian habitats of the Bonesgate Stream, to species of special significance to the site such as the Meadow Brown butterfly.

We have secured funding to expand our rewilding operations on this site significantly, for wildlife and people throughout 2024, and we would love you to join us at Tolworth Court Farm Fields.

Where to meet

We will meet at the northwestern entrance to the site off the A240 Kingston Road.

There is free parking available across the A240 on Kingston Road (please park at your own risk). See the map for details.

From Kingston, the 406, 418 and K2 buses all pass Tolworth National Rail Station. Westbound South Western Rail services from Waterloo to Chessington South call at Tolworth Station and running approximately every 30 minutes in both directions. From Tolworth Station it is approximately 6 minutes' walk on foot.

The A240 is a busy dual carriageway, please be extremely careful at all times and only attempt to cross at the pedestrian crossings.
