One event to rule them all! You may have seen our posts and individual events for Tolkien Week. This event page will have all the event flyers posted in one place! The main purpose of Tolkien Week is to foster and encourage the love of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, both in book and film format, and to help introduce the works of Tolkien to a new generation. 2024 is the 70th Anniversary of the publication of The Fellowship of the Ring.
The Swenson House is partnering with local non-profits and businesses around Abilene to host a variety of Tolkien and Hobbit-themed events around Abilene during the week of September 22-28, 2024. Only the Hobbit Day Celebration will take place at the Swenson House, others will be at different locations around Abilene!
