Tokyo Humanities Café 21 will take place on Friday 25th April 2025 19:30-21:25(ish) at Ryozan Park Lounge (2 minutes from Sugamo Station, 5 minutes from Komagome station).Tokyo Humanities Cafe is an English-language forum for people to meet and exchange ideas about research and creativity. Four speakers from a range of backgrounds each give 10-15 minute presentations in an informal, supportive, and lively atmosphere. This time we have A. A. Milne’s poetic rhythm (from one of the world’s leading literary critics and theorists), the politics of linguistic labels, insects in Japanese visual culture and translating Japan contemporary writing by Sayaka Murata and Miri Yu!
